The Owners
The Company is owned by Glen Gervais and Ted Wandishin, longtime business partners who together have more than 50 years’ experience building quality custom homes for families throughout Maine. Projects have included homes in Damariscotta, Westport, Newcastle – to Topsham, Bowdoinham, Brunswick – to all of the Greater Portland area and surrounding towns – and as far south as Wells, Kennebunk and Old Orchard Beach.
Both business partners are knowledgeable and available to each customer throughout every stage of your building process. In addition, each partner has specialized experience that is utilized during the process to maximize the Company’s ability to meet your needs from site selection and planning through home completion and closing day.
Ted Wandishin
Ted began his career in the real estate industry in 1988 after college graduation from the University of Maine, earning his Broker and Designated Broker licenses and Realtor designation. Shortly thereafter, Ted identified new home sales as his passion and earned a specialized designation as a Certified New Home Sales Specialist. Ted will work with you and your real estate agent, if applicable, to assist with the selection of the site for your new home, the plans for the home that you would like and any modifications to that design along the way. In addition, Ted has significant experience and is well versed in the unique attributes of new home financing and has worked with many lenders – large and small – to facilitate the lending process for new homebuyers. If desired, Ted is able to recommend lender options to buyers to ensure that each buyer is most comfortable with the lender they have selected and the financing options available to them.
Glen Gervais
Earning his undergraduate degree from Boston College, Glen began his real estate and construction management career in the mid-1980’s, initially specializing in commercial and large residential projects. After several years in the commercial field, Glen joined Custom Built Homes of Maine in the late 1980’s and has been a part of the Custom Built Home family since that time. Glen has a keen attention to detail and utilizes this skill together with his construction management expertise to select and oversee all of the subcontractors specifically chosen for the team that will construct and deliver your new home.
